Old Recycling Boxes – What’s Happening To Them!?

I have received quite a few questions about what is happening to the old recycling boxes. Below is a short note from Council Officers which I thought would be helpful to share.

“Residents are welcome to keep the old recycling boxes for their own use if they wish (eg. for storage), or take them to the Civic Amenity and Recycling Centre in Summers Lane, North Finchley N12 0RF. The boxes will be recycled. If residents would like us to take their boxes away they can leave them next to their new blue bin on their new collection day, and we aim to collect them (using a separate vehicle) within 48 hours. This will be a large scale operation in the first week of the new collection service, and a smaller scale operation will take place in the subsequent weeks of collections to pick up any boxes not previously collected. If any boxes left out for collection have not been removed resident should contact our Customer Care Unit on 020 8359 4600.”
